Mitigating the Impacts of COVID-19 on Menstrual Health and Hygiene
The brief aims to help actors in the COVID-19 response anticipate and mitigate the secondary impacts of the pandemic on girls’ and women’s ability to manage their menstruation.
Seventy per cent of health care workers are women, and shortages of essential menstrual hygiene products like sanitary pads or tampons are already affecting certain populations. This brief considers the impacts on girls and women, from health-care settings to communities.
