Malawi - Renewable energy solutions improve children's health and well-being

To reduce health issues facing children due to the lack of electricity in hard-to-reach areas, UNICEF Malawi and partners are developing child-centred, renewable energy solutions that are adapted to existing social structures for improving essential services. This focus on the community context lends itself to working across sectors.

This case study highlights how UNICEF and partners in Malawi are working together to improve the quality and reliability of social services to children and to accomplish sustainable development goals in health; water, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH); and education, through multiple renewable energy programmes.
